They are still around! Our Ruby-throated Hummingbirds will be here until October. Don’t forget to change the nectar every three days. The ratio is 4 parts water to 1 part sugar (4/1). Remember….Don’t add anything besides sugar to the water…no red dye, no vitamins, no “healthy” stuff…Sugar water is the closest thing to flower nectar. Have any questions? Give us a call or stop by. Hummingbirds spend at least 75% of their day sitting. This is a great time to snap a photo of these birds…Nice and still.

Watermelon

Here is my second watermelon of the season. I am ready to pull my summer garden out and plant my fall garden. My new tomato plants are ready and I have seeds to plant as well. This will have to wait until Sunday when I have the time. Man I love to garden. Next year I plan to have an even bigger garden.

Midsummer Nights’ Fair

There is so much to see and do at the Midsummer Nights Fair. It is held every year in a park on Norman, OK. Music, art and food are at the top of my list of ‘ must dos’. My brother has a booth every year and I go to help him. He is one of the hardest working men I know.
When I got there yesterday it was 100 degrees…but as soon as the sun was behind the trees it cooled down quickly. It is always fun to people watch as well. Never a dull moment! If you ever get a chance you should go.

Italian for the night

I took my mother out for her birthday… Italian food and live music. The band is Annie Oakley. These talented teen are awesome.

The food was delish! The restaurant is Othello’s it is located on Campus Corner in Norman, OK. You can’t beat live music and good food!
